We are extremely proud and excited to announce a series of new products that we are launching for operations into the Okavango Delta and Kalahari regions.
The “Cool Freight Solution” is a greatly enhanced customer-orientated freight solution for camps, lodges, and mobile operations in the region and we look forward to working with our clients on this project and further maximizing your flights, as well as improving the quality of perishable products and freight being delivered into the Okavango and Kalahari regions.
GRAND CARAVAN “COOL FREIGHTER”
We have, in line with our 2018 strategy, completed the upgrade, to one of our existing Caravan aircraft which has greatly improved the performance and therefore the capacity of the aircraft – both in terms of weight and volume. This has resulted in us being able to offer significantly improved freight loads to destinations in the Okavango Delta and Kalahari.
To the majority of destinations, these upgrades in capacity have resulted in a 30-40% increase in weight and a possible 40-65% increase in volume for a flight. For most destinations; we are now in a position to offer clients a weight of 1,400kg out of either Maun or Kasane and we can do more than one “drop off” on a single charter flight – this enables clients to service multiple destinations on a single flight or alternatively service more destinations more frequently during the week.
MACK AIR “COOL CONTAINER”
In addition to the upgrades on the Caravan aircraft we have also invested in a large stock of specially designed “cool containers” that we will be offering clients for their perishable and breakable freight; at no additional expense to them.
These “cool containers” are made from exceptionally high-quality polyethylene compounds, have a specific shape and size that allow us to optimise the volume of the aircraft, pack to roof height in the main cabin, and apart from being robust enough to endure the harsh handling and climatic conditions of the region they have the capability of holding frozen ice for well in excess of 24 hours.
With the launch of the “Cool Freight Solution” clients are able to load all frozen meat products, refrigerated perishables (yogurts, cheeses, creams, etc.), high-risk vegetables, salads, and breakables (tomatoes, lettuce, and eggs, etc.) in the new “cool containers”. This will ensure that going forward, goods will arrive at their destination in the best possible condition, with minimal breakages and maintenance of quality that is second to none. We have taken the liberty of attaching photos of our new “cool container” for your information:
